Plot Summary: The theme of the film is the love between parents and children. The story covers 13 years and begins with a 19-year-old college student named Hana who encounters and falls in “fairy tale-like” love with a “wolf man.” After marrying the wolf man, Hana gives birth and raises two wolf children—an older sister named Yuki who was born on a snowy day, and a younger brother named Ame who was born on a rainy day. The four quietly lived in a corner of a city to conceal the existence of the “wolf children,” but when the wolf man suddenly dies, Hana decides to move to a rural town far removed from the city.

Such a good movie. The book can not be compared to this- for the movie is much better in my opinion :) the music and animation is so smooth and the graphics are beautiful. Much better than studio ghilbi I enjoy this and recommend it for teens .

This was a beautiful and touching movie that I feel did wonderful at capturing what the growing pains of such a unique family could truly be. I laughed and cried and cringed throught. Also, it was amazingly well drawn/animated. Very smooth and seamless throughout.

@ Nicholas- you’re right! I didn’t even notice the description was wrong bc I’d heard about this movie elsewhere and was simply looking for a link to watch. Hopefully the moderator(s) of this site will catch and change it appropriately.

ok… where do i start… i think this is a masterpiece… actually, this is the first time i ever comment anything, because i dont find it necessary, but this time, it deserves it so much. i can say with all security “this movie is perfect” from graphics to plot, end, beginning, everything. even if its a slice of life its just so amazing, how well achieved is the story. the feelings were always present, and the end just leaves you that melancholic touch that reminds for quite a time, being that much more intense if you watch it at night. so, in the end, just a masterpiece.

This is by far one of my favorite films. Ever. It is beautifully made and has a great story. I just watched it for the third time, and showed it to my little sister. I rarely cry during movies, and this one made me bawl. The one thing I absolutely do not understand is; Why does Ame never come to visit Hana? Since he was so close, why did he never once drop by? I mean, maybe he did, but we never are shown if he does. Still, this was a beautiful movie, like all Studio Chizu (and Studio Ghibli, for that matter) films.
